As part of the THIRD THURSDAY: REMIX program for Carnegie Museum of Art, I invited Toronto-based director Lorna Mills to screen all 4 episodes of "Ways of Something" and join in a conversation with Episode 2 artist Angela Washko.
This epic remake of John Berger’s famous documentary Ways of Seeing (1972) is comprised of 1-minute videos created by 125 emerging and key figures in the Net.Art movement. Utilizing a mashup of original animated GIFs, film remix, 3D animation, and web-based performances juxtaposed with Berger's original narrative, WoS describes how we look at art after the Internet. Ways of Something was acquired by the Whitney Museum of American Art in late 2016.
