As part of my board role at Resident Advisor, I work with the North American team to develop community programs and curate partnerships that can support platforms and artists who are enriching their local scenes from the ground up. This year’s program spotlit connections Texas scenes have to their peers in Mexico - from Austin to Mexico City, Houston to Monterrey, these links provide essential pathways for cultural exchange that both preserves and reinvents new forms of sound and expression.
This program was coupled with a daytime symposia presented by Vibe Lab and the German Center for Research and Innovation — The Nighttime Lab at SXSW. RA partnered with Austin’s Coconut Club, Club Eternal, and Red Bull to round out 24 hours of thinking and dancing critically… and with a whole lot of joy.
